Game Of Thrones S05E05 – Kill The Boy

Dragons! Winter! Theon! Ramsay! This week saw Game Of Thrones get a little closer to the territory this all started in. Damn it’s good to have Winterfell back, didn’t even know I’d missed it! That said its a little sad that a Tyrion and King’s Landing-lite episode is one of the best of the season so far but hey, characters have to move on and change.

Game Of Thrones S05 E04 – “Sons Of The Harpy”

As someone who binged Seasons 1 – 3 of GoT I won’t profess to have the most patient mind when it comes to watching episodes week on week. I also have a bit of a mental block when it comes to the fantasy genre, this being my main exception due to the more grounded elements of the show thematically. All of that said, I have found Season 5 to date a little slow and bordering on boring. That is until “Sons Of The Harpy”. I hate to be that viewer who is only watching in anticipation of the next big wow factor moment but the finale of this week’s episode, along with some meaty moments preceding it, served for some great television and it now feels like Season 5 has kicked off in earnest.

Game Of Thrones S05E03 – “High Sparrow”
Ok, I’m not getting… Bored, per se. This is TV at its finest and I wouldn’t dream go about hating on GoT, but parts are starting to drag and I think I know why if you asked me at any point during Seasons 1-3 I would have told you how little I give a crap about Bran Stark and his three eyed raven mission. The decision was then taken that Bran, Hodor and company would be omitted from Season 5 entirely
