No, we’re not moving over to Fridays. This week’s Flicks On ‘Flix has been delayed because it is an extra special one. At least it is to me. This week we’re looking at Community. Beloved by few, if Nielsen Ratings are to be believed, Community has become a cult hit since it began six years ago, taking the tropes of other TV shows and movies and spinning some hilarious meta humour at them. Its career is a storied one and it looks for all intents and purposes that it has finally come to a rest with this most recent sixth season. Season 1 – 5 are available on Netflix and there is no better time than now to binge and take in the wonderful nugget of comedy that was Community. Continue reading Flicks On ‘Flix – Community
What, you expected me to chime in with a final opinion within a week of the game releasing? Please. Ok so my daily (ish) updates on Advanced Warfare were supposed to be leading up to a final verdict but then Christmas/life/poor online connectivity got in the way. So here it is, over two months later, the final verdict. Continue reading Call Of Duty Advanced Warfare – The Final Verdict
Day 3/4 and I have the campaign all but completed. As I keep forgetting to do every year, this time I remembered to play on Veteran. As seems to be in vogue these days, I have decided to split my opinion on Call Of Duty – Advanced Warfare over a few days, hopefully with a finished piece good to go by Friday when I have finally got a good spin at the online aspects of this latest entry in the billion dollar franchise. Unfortunately, launching the game yesterday took a little more out of my day than expected so I got to play a grand total of…one match. I’ll work with what I can I guess! Once the Mario 64 buzz had subsided, it was time for a step forward (via Mario Kart 64 which still ranks as the best in the series and arguably one of the best car sims). Like many others, I awaited the arrival of what was then known as Dolphin with baited breath. Nintendo showed screen shots of this wonder console, and in a time before the PS3 and 360 well, my God it was as next-gen as we thought we would get. But then, it all went a little quiet. And what had started as this rumoured powerhouse suddenly became just another console. I went dark side, I went Sony. Continue reading Go Play Your Video Games (Part Two)
