TGIF indeed, and what a wonderful warm front rolling in to make the most of the weekend. Yeah, I can’t be telling the truth all the time. What I can do however is tell you what you may have missed this week on I’m Talkin’ Here:

Game Of Thrones S05E02 – The House Of Black And White
Some notable returns this week in GOT in the shape of Drogon (seriously Dany, look after your pets) and Arya!! Finally one of the shows best characters is getting some screen time. Admittedly it still wasn’t a whole lot much of anything but Arya’s is the story most seem to be able to connect with and everytime Maisie Williams is on screen the show gets a little more, human. As mentioned Drogon made a return in the closing moment of this week’s episode and he’s still the rebellious teen we last saw him as. That Dany is fated to die at the talons of him or either one of her other two dragons seems more and more inevitable but her struggle with “motherhood” has and still is being portrayed very convincingly. Few actors cause such excessive eye rolling as Rob Schneider. I’ll begin by saying that I don’t plan to defend the man’s many career missteps at all in this piece but I will implore and hopefully convince you to give this, his directorial debut, a shot and I’m confident you’ll thank me later. Continue reading Flicks On Flix – Big Stan
We all had those films, back in the day of VHS, the ones we watched so much that you could nearly hear the tape crying out for mercy as the heads dragged it through its paces for the umpteenth time. For me there were several but I would think The Edge was one of the few I managed to run more than one copy of ragged. I can’t count how many times I rented it when a trip to Xtra Vision for a new release came up fruitless and when we finally managed to catch it on TV and record it the already worn tape it was recorded on began a journey that it would do well to survive. I guess what I’m trying to say is, The Edge is an absolutely fantastic watch that you’ll want to see again.

Better Call Saul S01E07 – “Bingo”
It can’t be said that BCS has stuttered with this week’s seventh episode but it is more than accurate to say that this was the quiet beginnings of the path to Saul. Jimmy was so close, ready to move out of the salon and into a swanky office of his own, which he was hoping wouldn’t hurt his chances with Kim too of course. This is likely the last time we will see Jimmy get this close to real, legit success and it was handled in a surprisingly tragic manner. With Jimmy’s quiet moment in the final scene of the episode we saw a similar “lowest ebb” from him as we did from Mike last week. With both characters reaching their lowest, may we get nothing but climbs from now on? Climbs that find them both settle comfortably in the middle tier of course. Browsing through Netflix in more detail than I ever have before last week it struck me how many films are there but could so easily be overlooked. Obviously most will look for recent content on the site and consider the convenience their money’s worth, but there’s a treasure trove of content on their that won’t be pushed on your recommendations and you probably won’t find it without searching. So here on I’m Talkin’ Here you’ll find the best of Netflix that you didn’t even know was there, starting today with 2011’s neat action flick, Blitz.

With the advent of technology and a world of resources at our fingertips, humans have never had more instant access to intelligence. Of course with great power comes great responsibility and once you’ve lost your tenth pub argument to the ever-editable Wikipedia you realise that this intelligence comes with a pinch of salt. One industry that has been hugely affected by it however is the film industry; movie-mistakes.com, behind the scenes temperaments, on set affairs and more – you could argue we know too much with regards to the celluloid experience these days. But is it really a bad thing?
